Trying to get back to winning ways, Doncaster Sands United visit Seven Hills for the Flourish League action this week.

Starting with a backline that hadn't played together this season, and only contained one player who had racked up 90 minutes, Seven Hills started a little shakily with long balls being peppered over the top too frequently.

But following a bit of reorganising, Seven Hills started to take control of the game. Lewi in for his first start since his injury lay off, picked up where he was the previous week, albeit out wide instead of in the middle.

The new formation, essentially a 442 was working a treat, with strong plays developing out wide and plenty of support down the middle.

And that's how the first goal developed, with Jared turning him inside the 6 yard box.

Shortly after, Lewi picked up a knock, and had to be replaced, with Sme taking his place.

Pressure continued, but Sands were holding a tight line and 4 successive offsides were given against Joe and Sme, keeping Sands in the game.

And they did more than that when they scored following a corner set play which Seven Hills could clear, and Sands knocked in the clearance with ease. 1-1.

Sands then tried to pile on pressure, with long balls in the their striker which JD and T were mopping up with relative ease bar one shot he managed to get away from distance.

Half time beckoned, with both teams in good spirits.

Sands started the second half the better, with long balls played over the top to try and catch out the Seven Hills defense, with sun shining high in the sky the tactic looked to be causing problems too.

But Seven Hills managed to keep their cool, and started to work the ball through the middle a little more with some great work between Paddy and Alex helping to shape the play and help put pressure on Sands higher up the pitch.

Seven Hills started to take control of the game again and began forcing corners, and on the third attempt, a run across the box by JD was spotted by mark who swung in a lowish cross towards the front post, which was turned into goal by a Sands player. The score now 2-1 to Seven Hills.

Sands were now desperate to get back into the game. Their passion at times tested the referee, with a couple of strong warnings being delivered, but the pressure was strong. The long balls over the top continued, with some overloading down the left wing, which nearly saw them back into the game.

By this point the game became a bit scrappy, and saw a goalmouth scramble calmy dealt with by T.

Final score a 2-1 to Seven Hills.
