Another hard fought game today… and we used the friendly against De La Salle to try and develop some new roles for a few players.

De La Salle won the league last year, so this wasn't going to be an easy game.

We went, 0-1 down to a fairly soft goal but pulled back quickly to 1-1 with a goal from Cal assisted by Sme on a quick break. From there we missed a few opportunities which should have put us completely in control, but instead we were hit on the break… 1-2.

What followed was some more decent football, but a shot/cross from De La Salle looped over Bailey and 1-3 is how it stood at half time. Regrouped and with some new instructions we went back out with a determination to get something from the game.

There were some penalty calls and challenges that were waved on by the referee, much to the distain of Seven Hills, but the play went on and with Seven Hills players in protest, De La Salle capitalised to make it 1-4 and the game started to feel like it was over.

But Seven Hills dug deep, and Woz pulled one back with a header from Cals corner, and shortly afterwards some work down the side with Woz, Cal and Scott, led to trialist Tom bagging a goal after being on for all of 5 minutes.

3-4 may have felt a fair result on reflection, but towards the end Bailey parried a diving header from De La Salle into a safe area, but Seven Hills couldn't clear their lines… it stuck to the De La Salle player as he turned in the box and rifle home between a pile of players.

Seven Hills 3 - 5 De La Salle

Thanks for the game chaps, and we'll see you in the season
